Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses following two car thefts in Westbury.

The first incident took place on Monday, September 15, at about 1am in Bratton Road, Westbury.

A red Volkswagen Golf was driven down Bratton Road where it hit a wall. The car was then driven a short distance away before being abandoned.

The car was taken without the owner's consent.

A 19-year-old woman and a 24-year-old male, both from Westbury, have been arrested and released on bail pending further enquires in relation to this incident.

The second, unrelated incident took place just after midnight on Saturday, September 20, in the Hawkeridge area of Westbury.

A silver Vauxhall Corsa was taken without the owner’s consent before being abandoned.

A 26-year-old male and a 24-year-old female, both from the Frome area, were arrested and released on bail pending further enquires in relation to this incident.

The two incidents are not being linked at this time.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the areas during the times when these incidents took place.
