WITH summer well and truly here finding the right beer to go with that perfect BBQ meal can be challenging, but a Westbury brewery has produced an ale which could do just the trick.

Twisted Brewing have produced more than 75,000 litres of beer since they were set up by Andy Murray in December 2013.

In that time, the 51-year-old and his small team have produced four court beers and four seasonal beers at the brewery on Commerce Close.

And their newest addition has broken all previous records.

He said: “We produce beers from the traditional bitter brown beers to the more modern pale ale.

“Pirate has been our best beer since we began but we’ve just released our new summer ale, Nomad, and it’s just gone off the scale.

“I think the reason for that is it has that taste of summer, it’s a pale ale and it goes well with BBQ products or stronger and spicier food.

“It’s great with tuna or BBQ sausages because it’s a hop forward beer and it doesn’t have that back of the throat taste but it still has plenty of aroma and allows you to still get the flavour of the food.”

The micro-brewery uses quality ingredients and traditional processes to produce hand-crafted ales, which are delivered as far south as Southampton and as far north as Gloucester by the company themselves.

But in collaboration with other partners, the ale is being transported further afield to Manchester and Teesside.

Mr Murray added: “We continue to develop the business and we’re just starting to feel our way in new areas.

“The beer takes seven hours to brew, seven days to ferment and just seven seconds to drink.”
