Colin Callow has been chosen to contest the new Atworth, Whitely and South Wraxall ward in the forthcoming District Council elections on 3 May.
Colin was born in Trowbridge and lived in the area all his life. He is a former Trowbridge Town Councillor (1976-9).
He operated a road haulage business for 38 years and is now semi-retired but continues to deal and supply garden products.
He is active in the community and is currently chairman of Trowbridge Central Conservative Club. If elected he wants to improve planning and development procedure, cut waste and help to reduce the burden of Council Tax.
