A MELKSHAM family indebted to the support of Dorothy House Hospice Care for treating a family member with Motor Neurone Disease are coming out in force on Sunday for the inaugural Bubble Rush event.

Cheryl Scott and other members of the Scott family are taking part in the fundraiser at Castle Combe Race Circuit to thank the hospice for caring for their family.

Her brother in law, 46, was diagnosed with MND and as it has become more progressive, Dorothy House has cared for him and his family with therapies for relaxation and to try and ease the discomfort.

He too will be attending to watch his family in their foamy frolics which involves a 5km run, walk, skip or dance along a route filled with huge bubbly clouds of rainbow-coloured foam in three waves at 3pm, 4pm and 5pm.

More than 1,300 people have signed up for the day which also includes a bubble village, including a pre-event warm up routine as well as live entertainment and children’s activities.

Emily Knight, events fundraiser, said: "We are so excited about this new family fundraising event for Dorothy House. What a great way to have foamy fun whilst raising money for the hospice at the same time.”
