A RECORD result was achieved by students at St Laurence School in Bradford on Avon today.
A total of 79 per cent of students achieved the benchmark five A*-C grades including English and maths.
Fergus Stewart, headteacher at the school, said the staff are delighted with the results which have been their highest for many years.
He added: “The progress made by our Year 11 students across their five years at St Laurence has been excellent, with 83 per cent making expected progress in maths and 90 per cent in English, irrespective of their starting point.
“Once again the determination and hard work of students and staff, with the support of parents, has paid off in these well-deserved successes.
“There are many individual achievements for students across the whole range of abilities and we are very proud of all of them. We are thrilled that 25 students, well over 10 per cent of the year group, achieved at least eight GCSEs at grade A*/A. We wish all our students every success as they return to sixth form here or embark on further study elsewhere.”
