A huge dog walk has been held to encourage more people to rehome animals.
Bath Cats and Dogs Home, which operates in the city as well as across Wiltshire, held the walk on September 4 which was attended by scores of pet lovers.
Emma Wyatt, from, Box was one of the attendees at the event with her three pooches.
Explaining why she wants to help the charity which supports cats and dogs from Wiltshire as well as Bath, Emma said: “I’ve long been a supporter of the charity, and my parents used to come and walk the dogs when you could freely come up and walk them.
“I would say absolutely go for it if you’re thinking of adopting, always try and rescue before anything else because there are so many extra dogs that may end up in a home.”
TV presenter and celebrity vet Dr James Greenwood, from BBC Morning Live and CBBC, also attended the walk with his Labrador called Dolly.
He told this newspaper: “We can’t underestimate how important rescue charities are, and we as a society rely on the presence of them to offer support to pets- but also sometimes people just find themselves in a situation where they’ve got no choice to relinquish their pet which must be a heart-breaking thing to go through.
“What’s great about BCDH is they have a very non judgemental policy on that.”
