Police are hunting a man who smashed the driver’s window of a BMW during an incident of criminal damage.

The car was targeted by an individual at around 11.15pm on Monday, August 7, in Newtown Road, Trowbridge.

The blue BMW 5 series’ driver’s side window was smashed, and further damage was caused to the interior of the vehicle.

Police are now searching for a suspect in connection to the incident.

He is described by officers as a “dark skinned” male around 5ft 7 inches tall, and was reportedly wearing a striped T-shirt and a dark cap.

After the damage was caused, he allegedly fled in the direction of Frome Road.

Any witnesses or those with information have been urged to come forward.

A spokesperson for the force said: “On Monday, August 7, there was an incident of criminal damage that took place on Newtown Road, Trowbridge.

“This individual has targeted a blue 5 series BMW smashing the driver’s side window and in turn further damaging the interior of the vehicle.

“The incident occurred at roughly 11.15pm and would have made a significant amount of noise, after this occurred the person has fled in the direction of Frome Road.
