JAZZ Carlin progressed to the final of the 400m freestyle after finishing third in her heat this morning.

The 23-year-old, who won 800m Commonwealth gold last night, clocked 4:04.3 as she came in behind Swindon-born Scot Hannah Miley and Canada's Brittany Maclean.

Carlin will race in the final at 7.07pm this evening.

Meanwhile, Melksham's Rachel Williams helped Wales reach the final of the 4x100m relay medley.

The 20-year-old swam the opening leg as the Welsh girls finished fourth in their heat, with a time of 4:09.76.

The relay final is due to take place at 9.02pm but 100m backstroke silver medallist Goergia Davies is expected to take Williams' place tonight.
