CORSHAM Town put their injury worries to one side for the evening as they were able to put four past Almondsbury UWE in a 4-2 home win.

Jackson Hamilton opened the scoring for the home team before Levi Cox scored from the penalty spot to give the hosts a 2-0 half-time lead.

The visitors pulled a goal back after the break but Kieron Gleed restored the hosts two goal advantage only for it to be pegged back straight from the re-start.

It was a nervous end to proceedings with the visitors pushing for a point but Gleed made sure the hosts held on for the win with his second goal of the game.

“To be fair I think we were quite lucky in the end to win the game,” said Rawlings.

“We did well in the first half and went in 2-0 up but in the second half they came at us really hard and were able to score to make things a bit edgy.

“We were able to make it 3-1 but straight from the re-start it was 3-2 to make for a nervous end but Kieran got his second of the half to complete the win.

“It was an important win because it has been a bit of a mixed run we have been on.”

Injuries have played a big part in Corsham’s season and that continued this week with Charlie Maddison being ruled out for the rest of the season after being taken away from their 3-0 defeat against Barnstaple in an ambulance, which has been diagnosed as ligament damage, and Ben Moore last night picking up a shoulder injury.

“We are really struggling for numbers. Just to try and get 14 out for each game is a struggle and I think we made eight changes going into last night’s game,” added Rawlings.

“We have got Warminster this weekend and we have got seven days in for three or four people so we are hopeful to get one or two in before that game.

“I’m expecting a hard working side and we beat them 5-0earlier in the season and I have no doubt they will be out for revenge.”
