DIVISION Two Trowbridge Wanderers Reserves will take a narrow 1-0 lead into next weeks EJ Shanley & Sons–sponsored Spring Cup second leg meeting with third division outfit The Stiffs, who have given themselves a fighting chance of turning things around when the side meet at Lambrok Road next Saturday.

In what was a close game between two evenly-matched sides, though Stiffs were missing several players, both teams had many chances to score but it was Mike Ritson’s first-half effort that gave Wanderers the win that was probably the right result on the day.

Third division FC Trowbridge have it all to do when they face Trowbridge Rangers next weekend as they will need to overhaul a 4-0 defeat from the first leg if they are to progress to the quarter final stage.

Will Jacomb, Joe Clayton and Cameron Thomas put second Rangers 3-0 up at the interval before a second from Jacomb confirmed the win.

Bradford United Reserves, who defeated Hilperton United Reserves 6-3 in their first-leg meeting last weekend, have been ejected from the competition after it was found that they had played an ineligible player in that game.

Hilperton Reserves will face either Worton & Cheverell or Bratton in their quarter final match later in March.
