MELKSHAM Cosmos, who finished the season in third place behind Potterne and FC Buscots, were up against Talbot FC at the Conigre

But unlike the first meeting of the sides which Cosmos won 9-1 back in September they had to settle for a share of the honours as Talbot, who played most of the match with 10 players, fought back from 2-0 to claim a deserved point from a 2-2 draw.

Dan Moore’s penalty gave Cosmos a half-time lead and when Matt Bowden doubled their advantage early in the second period it looked as if they were set fair for another victory over their rivals.

Talbot dug deep and were thrown a lifeline when Dave Herring got them back into the game and with their tails up they grabbed an equaliser, Dean Fry netting his 15th goal of the season to earn his team a point from a match that looked all set to lose.

In what was probably their final ever game in the League Sportzcoach Dragonz United, who last week suffered a 9-1 loss at Pheasant FC, were hoping to avenge that defeat when the teams met at Little Marsh.

That it exactly what they did thanks to a 8-3 success, albeit their cause was greatly helped by their opponents who played the whole game with just seven players.

Joe Hargreaves had a fine game for Sportzcoach who themselves played the 90 minutes with just 10 men got his team back on level terms when he scored from the penalty spot after James Leach had put Pheasant in front.

Richie Bolter reclaimed the lead for Pheasant but they were pegged back again thanks to a first of the game from Tom Smith.

Tom Smith thanks to an assist from Hargreaves put Sportzcoach 3-2 up, but the seven men of the Pheasant showed real desire as a second from Bolter tied the scores at 3-3.

Shaun Heathcote then put Sportzcoach 4-3 ahead and when Joe Hargreaves charged the ball to fire home his second and his team's fifth Pheasant had no reply.

Another assist from Hargreaves set up Mark Bowsher for number six and further goals from Ross Mather along with a hat-trick goal from Hargreaves made up Dragonz eight.
