CHIPPENHAM Town rediscovered their form ahead of Saturday's FA Cup trip to Billericay Town with a comfortable victory at Dorchester Town last night.

However, after taking a deserved lead into the interval, the Bluebirds, who were thrashed 4-0 on the road at King's Lynn Town on Tuesday night, allowed the home side back into the game before hitting two goals in a minute to wrap up three points.

Chippenham's back five saw four changes to their regular set-up, but they were on the front foot from the kick-off as they looked to banish Saturday's heavy defeat to King's Lynn.

Debutant keeper Darren Chitty replaced Kent Kauppinen whilst a late injury to left-back Nuno Felix saw him join fellow defender Conor McCormack on the sidelines.

Centre-back Will Richards was unavailable, with Mark Preece joining skipper Greg Tindle at the heart of defence and Gary Horgan made his first start since returning to Hardenhuish Park.

Chippenham got the goal they deserved on 30 minutes when Alex Ferguson's strong run into the box ended with him being brought down and Andy Sandell converted the ensuing penalty.

Home keeper Shane Murphy denied the Bluebirds a second goal with a superb save just before the break.

Dorchester's best chance of the half saw captain Jake Smeeton fire wide from a free-kick on the edge of the area.

Five minutes after the break, a similar free-kick ended with Ben Wood firing the loose ball wide.

Dorchester equalised on 51 minutes when the Bluebirds defence failed to clear and Smeeton poked home Mario Mateus' cross from close-range.

Midway through the half, another effort from Wood was saved by Chitty.

But the Bluebirds restored their lead on 67minutes with a timely first goal of the season from Chris Allen, who scored following a goalmouth scramble.

A minute later Sandell scored his second and Chippenham's third after being set up by fellow striker Dave Pratt, who had returned to action from suspension.
