MELKSHAM Ladies got off to a flying start in Wessex Division 1, thrashing Swindon 2nd 8-2.
The visitors made the most of a weakened Swindon side, Mel Besell leading the scoring with five. Georgina Doel added a couple, with Joan Carpenter also on target.
Melksham travel to City of Bath tomorrow, while their promoted second string, captained by Beth Goater open their campaign at home to West Wilts 2nd.
