THE internet service in the libraries has now become an absolute joke and the problems are going to continue because nobody is doing anything about it.
The system freezes, printing now needs endless queues just to get the things released, the staff computers often don’t work, which means problems releasing print-outs, booking time on the internet or signing in new members. The whole system is a nightmare and the people who are supposed to fix the problems couldn’t care less. The council keep saying that our views count – maybe they should try proving it.
As for trying to concentrate on anything in the library – forget it! The noise is so loud at times you struggle to hear yourself think. I’m not saying go back to the days where if you sneezed the librarians glared at you, but a little consideration for other library users wouldn’t go amiss.
