ON BEHALF of the Trowbridge & District Christian Aid Committee, may I thank all the people of Trowbridge and the surrounding villages for their most generous response to the recent house to house collection.
The amount collected was £5,028.78, which is a great achievement by the people of Trowbridge. In addition we are most grateful for those, who by endorsing their name and addresses on the envelopes, have gift aided a further £498.99 tax to be refunded by the Government.
This amount has been forwarded to headquarters for use by our partners around the world to alleviate the problems of those less fortunate than ourselves in countries such as Iraq with humanitarian relief, Sierra Leone with rebuilding communities after the Ebola crisis and Syria with food for children.
